November 2008 marked the first Broadway Experience excursion to Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida. The group was the only vocal ensemble from the western United States accepted to perform at the park’s annual Candlelight Processional.

As many of you may know, Brandon and I are on the road this week to meet up with our seriously talented students who auditioned and were accepted to sing at Walt Disney World’s Candlelight Processional. We found out recently that Broadway Experience is the only group of singers, high school, college or adult, accepted from the Western US this year! That is quite an honor and well deserved by this group’s talented young performers.

This group includes a large number of award winning singers, from LA County Music Center Spotlight semi-finalists (three) to San Bernardino County Music Educator’s Association Solofest winners or finalists (five) from Southern California Vocal Association semi-finalists or finalists (six) to Chaffey Joint Union Solofest winners or finalists (four) to John Child Walker Vocal Competition finalists or winners (four). Each and every member is showing great promise; we have some of the most accomplished young performers in Southern California. I am privileged to be involved in their artistic lives. We’re looking forward to an incredibly rewarding trip. And oh yea, it will be a BLAST too! Stay tuned!

Fundraising for Florida

We will be holding a HUGE Garage Sale and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 1st at Theatre Company, 1400 N. Benson Ave., Upland, CA. The sale will start at 8:00 a.m. All proceeds from the sale will go towards our upcoming trip to Disney World. Please come out to support us.

Car Wash

We will be holding a car wash on Saturday, September 27th from 1:30 - 5:00 at Theatre Company, 1400 N. Benson Avenue, Upland, California. All proceeds from the car wash will go towards our upcoming trip to Florida in November.

Where else can you get your car washed for only $5.00 by a bunch of talented teenagers? We will also have baked goods and hot dogs for sale while you wait.

Candlelight Processional - Disney World

We have been accepted!!!! We submitted our audition tape and were notified within a week that we have been invited to participate. Now comes the really hard part, learning all the music and raising the money to go. We will be holding a variety of fundraising opportunities and will keep you informed as they are scheduled. Broadway Experience is a Non-Profit 501(3c) organization and donations are completely tax deductible and always welcome.

Honk, Jr. Cast Announcement

Congratulations to everyone for a great audition! This is going to be a great show! Everyone cast in Honk, Jr. is automatically a member of Broadway Experience, Jr. Each week as a member of BE in addition to Honk rehearsal you will get a one hour dance class, audition techniques, and improv. Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. beginning on September 3rd. The fee for Broadway Experience is $65.00 per month. Honk, Jr. Auditions

Broadway Experience will be holding auditions for Honk, Jr. on Wednesday, August 27th at 6:00 p.m. in the Studio at Theatre Company in Upland.

Honk is a charming musical retelling of the Ugly Duckling story. Performers between the ages of 8 to 13 are welcome to audition. Please come prepared with sheet music to sing 16 bars. Everyone who is chosen for Honk Jr. will be accepted into Broadway Experience. Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays at the Studio from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

We will look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.

Successful Opening!

Last night was Opening Night and what an amazing performance! The audience showed how much they loved it by giving the cast a standing ovation. What a great way to end the night!

Tickets are available at the door for the remaining performances; Saturday, July 19th - 2:30 and 7:30 and Sunday, July 20th - 2:30.

Beauty & The Beast

Rehearsals are going great and the show is going to be amazing! We moved into the theatre (Los Osos High School) last night and it just makes the cast realize how close we are to Opening Night. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, they will be available at the door prior to each performance or you can call Debbie Jackson at (909) 240-2743 and she will be happy to make arrangements to get your tickets to you.
